Case Study Snapshot: Buy/Sell Failure to Survive

Partners of an accounting firm were seeking life insurance policies to financially indemnify their corporate buy/sell agreement which would fund the buy-out of an owner’s shares in the company should one of them die.  The majority owner had been declined by several domestic life carriers due to her health history.

The 67-year-old CPA had a lengthy history of breast cancer including recurrences, multiple surgeries and cycles of chemotherapy, radiation and hormone treatment.  Her insurance agent contacted Petersen International for assistance.

We were able to underwrite the risk with a full cancer exclusion and provide the client with a $1,250,000 death benefit through our Buy/Sell Failure to Survive product, successfully fulfilling her portion of the buy/sell agreement.
