Save the Date! Petersen International Underwriters ALS Golf Classic
We are pleased to announce that Petersen International is the title sponsor of the 2021 ALS Golf Classic which will be held on December 6, 2021 at Valencia Country Club in Valencia, California. This amateur charity golf tournament, now in its 20th year, has received many accolades all over California. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the ALS Association Golden West Chapter.
ALS is a horrific, incurable and fatal disease that strikes thousands of new patients in America every year. Much still isn’t known about the debilitating and deadly affliction which is why activities like the ALS Golf Classic are so important in raising awareness and donations in the search for answers and ultimately a cure.
The Golden West Chapter of the ALS Association is quite near and dear to my heart. My father, John Russo, was diagnosed with the disease in 2013. He lost his battle with ALS just eleven months later, shortly after his 61st birthday. I witnessed the disease destroy his body, so I know how necessary it is to raise money for research, patient care and treatment development. This is an important cause.
Fittingly, the tournament will be played in John’s memory this year at the beautiful Valencia Country Club. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and has hosted the Los Angeles Open of the PGA Tour and over the years has been a regular stop on the Senior PGA Tour.
